Privacy policy
Rails is a browser railway game made by James. This policy covers this website and the Rails 0.21 browser game supplied with it.
Information stored on your device
Rails saves your best scores and preferences, including language and display settings, in your browser's local storage. These saves remain in that browser; the game does not send them to James or sync them between devices. They remain until you or your browser clear them.
Accounts, advertising, and analytics
This version does not offer accounts, ask for your name or email address, or include advertising or analytics software. The website and game do not directly set cookies. Fonts, images, and game code are served with the website.
Website hosting
The website is intended to be hosted on Cloudflare Pages. When you visit, Cloudflare processes technical request information, which may include your IP address, browser information, and the pages requested, to deliver and protect the website. Its handling of information is described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy. Hosting services may use security cookies depending on their configuration.
Other platforms
If you play Rails on a third-party platform, that platform may process additional information under its own privacy policy. This policy describes the standalone version supplied here, and does not describe advertising or other features a separate platform may provide.
Your choices
You can delete saved scores and preferences by clearing site data for the address where you played Rails in your browser settings. This resets your local records and preferences. Clearing data on a separate Rails information website will not clear saves on a different game address. For information handled by the hosting provider, consult its policy for applicable privacy rights and contact options.
Children's privacy
The game does not ask players of any age to provide personal information. The same local saving behaviour applies to all players.
Changes to this policy
This page will be updated if the game's data handling changes. The date above identifies the latest revision.
